Good Faith Estimate Notice and the No Surprises Act

Good Faith Estimate Notice (Chiropractic Services)

Effective January 2022, the No Surprises Act requires healthcare providers including chiropractors to follow specific billing rules designed to protect patients from unexpected charges for out-of-network services.

Through the no suprises act you have the right to receive a written Good Faith Estimate that outlines the expected cost of your chiropractic care. This applies to patients who are uninsured or who choose not to use their insurance benefits.

Our office will provide a Good Faith Estimate for the total anticipated cost of non-emergency chiropractic services. This may include, but is not limited to, initial examinations, re-examinations, spinal and extremity adjustments, therapeutic exercises, physiotherapy modalities (such as electrical stimulation or ultrasound), and adjunctive services including Class IV laser therapy. The estimate may also include related items or services such as supportive devices or supplies provided as part of your care.

Please note that actual charges may vary depending on your clinical needs, response to treatment, and any additional services deemed medically necessary during the course of care.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges through the patient-provider dispute resolution process. We recommend that you retain a copy or photo of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
